Holly Hunter is an American actress and producer well recognized for her high-quality performance in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter was awarded numerous prizes, including an Oscar for her movie Piano. She started her career as an actor on Broadway and Off Broadway. From her early years, she has been passionate about performing. She played Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school production. As a result of having mumps, she went deaf on one side the ear. This did not stop her ambition to be an actress. She studied drama at college after which she moved from Pittsburgh to New York City to follow her goals. Hunter made her Broadway debut due to an unplanned encounter with Beth Henley, a playwright. Together, they wrote in Broadway Crimes of the Heart. When she moved into Los Angeles she tried to obtain film roles and was offered the role of a co-star for the role of a supporting character in Swing Shift. She has since appeared in numerous television series, films and films over the course of a 30-year career. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and she has won Women in Film Lucy Award.
